Advocates for Responsible & Sustainable Growth
The loblolly pine tree is native all along the east coast and gulf coast into Texas. It grows fast and has a long history of use as a means of erosion control. Evangeline Bowie planted thousands of these pine trees across what is now Bowie Nature Park in Fairview as an integral part of her life's work of reclaiming the land ravaged by over-farming and deforestation.
In honor of her work and the gift of Bowie Nature Park to our community, the Loblolly Pine Alliance is dedicated to advocating for responsible and sustainable growth that protects and preserves important places like this in our community and communities across Middle Tennessee.
Our first important project is our work to protect Bowie Nature Park and surrounding properties from development that creates the potential risk of severe stormwater run-off by fighting to overturn the approval of the master development plan and rezoning for the subdivision that borders the park. The park and homeowners already suffer ongoing problems from flooding and damage to their properties.
We need your help to help ensure the concerns of residents are addressed by the city and developers before construction begins and it is too late.
